The Obsidian Dining Room at Old Faithful Snow Lodge is an alternative to the traditional dining at the Old Faithful Lodge across the parking lot. You can’t beat the view overlooking Old Faithful at the Old Faithful Lodge Cafeteria. The deli offers a number of take-out snacks and sandwiches, and the customer service is excellent. The cafeteria is in the lodge on the right side of the Visitor Center and is a great option if the park restaurants are full, and you’ll find a nice assortment of offerings like soup, Philly cheese steak, mac and cheese, pot roast, bison meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and more. Most items are pre-cooked and placed in a warming tray, but service is quick and the food is satisfying.

This is a little gem hiding between Old Faithful Lodge and the gas station where you’ll find a cute little restaurant, clean restrooms, and a souvenir shop. The staff here is friendly and nice, and they serve the best milkshakes, ice cream, French fries, and burgers in the park. The old name “Hamilton’s” still hangs on a sign above the porch, but it has been renamed the Old Faithful Basin Store.

The dining room is beautiful, rustic with plenty of windows, the staff is friendly, and the views from the tables by the windows are stunning. Breakfast service is good, but all dishes are a la carte, so it can be pricey. The front porch is huge, and there are a lot of places where you can sit down, relax, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
